Hrithik Roshan, who underwent surgery for Subacute Subdural Haematoma, a blood clot that was lodged in his brain, on July 7 at Mumbai's Hinduja Healthcare Surgical, was moved to the recovery room for 48 hours post the operation.
Sources say that besides immediate family — that included parents Rakesh and Pinky, elder sister Sunaina and wife Sussanne — the actor was not keen on having any visitors. The doctors had warned that there is a risk of infection and so, Hrithik's family was taking all precautions. An extra room was reserved on the hospital premises from where some family members kept vigil.
In the meantime, we heard from sources that Hrithik, being a perfectionist, had prepared meticulously for the surgery. A day before the surgery, he got his hairstylist Aalim to shave off a portion of his head where the incision was made. "He refused general anaesthesia. Though the medical fraternity described the surgery as a fairly common procedure to clear a blood clot, the Roshans were nervous.
Before the surgery, Sunaina was seen sobbing and Hrithik was comforting her. It was touching to see him telling her, 'Didi, all will be well, don't cry'. Hrithik was administered local anaesthesia and he did experience a lot of pain post surgery. In fact, one saw Rakesh sitting in a corner at the hospital, looking quite concerned. His only query was, "Is Duggu in pain?"
While Karan Johar made it to the hospital before the surgery, others like Abhishek Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Karan Malhotra also dropped by. Uday Chopra, who is one of Hrithik's closest friends and who was in Dubai, was apparently shocked when he learnt about the sudden surgery through social networking sites. It is said Uday flew back to India to be by his friend's side. Hrithik is expected to be discharged by July 10.

Actor Hrithik Roshan, who underwent a minor brain surgery on Sunday, is contemplating spending a few more days in the hospital. He is recuperating at the Hinduja Healthcare Surgical in Khar in a private room.
Treating doctor B K Mishra, a consultant neurosurgeon, told TOI that the actor was doing well. "He is doing fine now and we are ready to discharge him in another two to three days. But, ultimately it is going to be the family's decision. Hrithik may want to stay in the hospital for a few more days for better rest and care. At home, there may be a rush of friends and well-wishers to meet him," said the doctor.
Mishra, who performed a minimally invasive surgery on the star, said that he was on a normal diet.
