Roshan, whose 2013 release Krrish 3 has been declared one of the biggest hits in the history of Indian movies, earning Rs.500 crore, has just invested in a newly formed company that will construct sports stadiums. This is in addition to his investment in an undisclosed online retailer. “I am in huge favour of entrepreneurship. Bring a company to me and I will consider it,”
Roshan said in a recent interview with Mint. Typically, Roshan invests for a period of 3-5 years and has sought assured returns in one of the two deals. He is not looking for quick returns when he invests, said Afsar Zaidi, chief executive officer and founder of Exceed Entertainment, a celebrity management company that oversees Roshan’s investments.
“Every deal is well thought of,” Zaidi said about Roshan’s strategy of investing in companies. “He takes the final call. He interacts with the promoters directly and takes his decisions.” The Bollywood star, who made his debut with the blockbuster Kaho Naa... Pyaar Ha i in 2000, is interested in investment opportunities in the social media space and new technologies, Zaidi said, declining to name the firms or the amount Roshan has invested in the two start-ups
