The Plot
We’re hosting a fun celebrity football match in the Mumbai Rains on 20th July 2014, 5pm-8pm at the Cooperage Football Ground in Mumbai that will have Bollywood celebrities – like Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, Imran Khan, Tiger Shroff, Sohail Khan, Kunal Kapoor, Dino Morea and more – taking the football field by storm!
These stars will be sparkling at the fundraising event for TIGI Foundation’s animal welfare shelter. And you can witness the stars battling it out too! Or even be a part of the game! We have over 10 different contributor-rewards for all levels of contirbutions which includes an opporunity to participate in the match, work-out with Imran Khan, hangout with Aamir Khan on the sets of his new film and many more. Do note the game will be played in the open and the spectators will also be sitting in the open therefore do carry wet clothes, umbrellas etc if it rains. The Flashback
TIGI is an acronym for ‘Trust In Goodness Inside’. It is not just the name of the foundation but also the name of our beloved 17-year-old cat. The TIGI Foundation was founded in 2012. It is a non-profit animal welfare organization begun by Nuzhat Khan, a psychoanalyst who has fostered more than 100 animals over the years at her residence in Pali Hill. The NGO is supported by her actor son Imran Khan and activist/actor brother Aamir Khan.
The Flashforward
The goal of the organization is to provide abandoned animals with the proper medical and emotional attention that all sentient beings deserve. To reach that goal the foundation needs to raise funds for the construction of a state-of-the-art animal shelter just outside Mumbai. The shelter will be able to facilitate 100 animals at its full capacity and shall have an in-built clinic to ensure that the residents get the adequate medical attention they need.
Being built on a four-acre plot of land and owned by the founding members of the NGO, the shelter will be designed with the inputs of animal behaviorists and veterinarians. The shelter will operate on a ‘no animal left behind’ policy, accepting all animals regardless of their age and health. The idea was driven by the lack of a ‘safe area’ for animals in distress in Mumbai.
