MUMBAI: With son Farhan Akhtar's film Lakshya, Javed Akhtar returns to scriptwriting after 15 long years. The last script he wrote was Main Azad Hoon.
Two years of research and preparation went into the Lakshya script. A consultant was used for the script to authenticate things related to the army.
The film, which will be released June 18, has been extensively shot in Ladakh. Two days were given for the entire unit to get acclimatized to the high altitude weather conditions.
A strong team of 350 shot for 115 days at a stretch in the grueling climate. Ten foreigners, including the stunt coordinator, the special effects team and the make up person, were also part of the crew.
Special arrangements were made for heaters, portable loos, mobile tents and 500 cans of oxygen. Other arrangements were also made to make the international crew comfortable.
