Hrithik Roshan has a line up of releases later this year and next year. He is working in Ashutosh Govarikar’s Akbar Jodha, in Yash Chopra’s Dhoom II, in his father’s Krrish and in Zoya Akhtar’s next film.

Mumbai: Sep 22, 2005/Sawf News Service/ -- Two super hit films have come and gone. Bunty Aur Babli and Hum Tum have made great waves in the Hindi film industry. But few know that in place of Abhishek Bachchan in the former and Saif Ali Khan (National Award Winner for 2005) in the latter, Hrithik Roshan was offered both roles before they went to the replacements. “In the first – Bunty Aur Babli, I did not think the role would suit me. At the time I was offered Hum Tum, I was busy shooting for other films,” says Hrithik who was also offered the lead role in Ashutosh Govarikar’s Swades, “Now I am working in several films. I am doing Ashutosh Govarikar’s Akbar Jodha, after seeing Swades and being immensely impressed by Ashu’s work. I am working for my dad’s Krrish and for Yash Chopra’s Dhoom II. I am also working for Zoya Akhtar’s next film.

So you see, I am choosing films carefully and with pride in being associated with projects that give me the opportunity of ‘performing’ rather than just playing the lead in a film. Earlier, I was working year round in films that gave me nothing but money. I am choosy now because I was exhausted doing fluff films that I chose insanely.

Now, work should be like meditation for me. I have gone through rough times in my life – from being evicted from our home when my father lost all money to having a bone problem, which could have made me unable to even walk. Who would have dreamt that I would be a dancer and an actor? I am lucky that all this has happened to us as a family because my father deserves to get his share of success after a lifetime of hard work.”

Hrithik has been married for five years to Suzanne Khan, daughter of Sanjay and Zarine Khan and says that she gives him a priceless sense of security when he is working hard in films or shows. The latest and happy news for the couple – very much in love – is that they will have a baby by the beginning of the next year. Hrithik is overjoyed and is looking forward to playing ‘daddy’ to his and Suzanne’s bundle of joy when the baby comes!
