Here's a look at the luxury cottages that have been built especially for Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai at Karjat, on the sets of Jodha Akbar Art director Nitin Desai has created luxurious cottages for Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai at his studio in Karjat because director Ashutosh Gowariker wants his stars to stay at the studio rather than commute from Mumbai every day. Nitin talks about the cottages.

Hrithik and Ashutosh stayed last night

Hrithik's 1600 sq feet cottage has all amenities. "I have installed a full-fledged gymnasium inside his house, with the latest equipment which he uses in his personal gym," says Nitin. The two-bed room cottage has a modular kitchen. "Hrithik has got his cook along from Mumbai. The kitchen has a microwave oven, refrigerator, cooking oven and food processor. It's a mini-kitchen, but sufficient for one person. Hrithik loves pasta and other continental food, so the fridge is always well-stocked with all the necessary ingredients," says Nitin.

Hrithik loves watching action films

Nitin has also installed a plasma television set in the living room, and the colour of the wall is chocolate brown, which is Hrithik's favourite colour. "We have installed a dish TV which airs nearly 300 channels. Hrithik loves watching news and game shows. I have also gifted him a few of his favourite action films," says Nitin. Incidentally, Hrithik is considering getting along his son and Susanne to the cottage over the weekend. "Hrithik is an early riser and utilises the extra time to go for walks. I have a snooker table for him and a private swimming pool too," he says.

Ash didn't want to travel

"Nitinji it took me more than an hour to reach your studio from Bandra," Aishwarya said to Desai on the first day of the shoot. Now the second schedule of Jodha Akbar has begun and Ash has a similar cottage for her too. "The interior of her room is completely different. I have used soft colours for the living room and given her a shining gold bedroom, which will make her feel like Jodhabai even when she is not shooting," says Nitin. "Ash is very fond of romantic films and I have given her about 3000 DVDs. Yesterday, she watched Gone With The Wind," he says. Aishwarya has a room for her costumes and jewellery used in the film, where she can conduct discussions with her designers too.

Hrithik lends his cook to Ash sometimes

Hrithik's cook seems to be over-working and does not seem to be complaining. He is preparing meals for Aishwarya too. "Ash loves homemade food, and will get her own cook along soon. But in the meanwhile Hrithik's cook is making subzi, dal and roti for her," says Nitin.

Johnny Depp may stay in Hrithik's cottage later I

ncidentally, Mira Nair contacted Nitin Desai for the Mumbai schedule of her film Shantaram, which stars Johnny Depp. If everything goes as per plan, the house designed for Hrithik will have Johnny Depp residing in it later. "I can't confirm this," he says. "It's true that Mira wants to shoot in my studio with Johnny," he says.
