Ashutosh Gowarikar's magnum opus costume drama JODHAA AKBAR has put every pre-release critic go wrong. As against the critic's expectation, the film has been positively accepted by everyone who has 'experienced' the movie. The fact now remains that most of the reviews and the word of mouth in general are all carrying positive reports. What more, the story doesn't end there but has better things to say as far as overseas is concerned. JODHAA AKBAR was the highest non-US entry into this weekend's international top 40. It entered at No. 4 in the worldwide charts and generated $8.1m from 15 territories worldwide. In the UK also it opened number 10 in the charts grossing £500,000 in the 1st week. Ok, if that's not enough, take this - for the first time, an Indian film has been reviewed so widely by mainstream press in US / UK. Most of the reviews are extremely positive barring San Francisco Chronicle. ABC News (TV) Boston is covering the film this weekend. Apparently, one of their reporters went to a theatre last weekend for a Hollywood film and was surprised to see the long queues at a movie theatre for an Indian film.
