Film to release with 200 prints after good reception at film fest Guzaarish (2010) might have got a lukewarm response in India but that doesn't stop it from being hugely popular in Korea. The film that closely explores the life of a quadriplegic, opened to a packed house at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). But what's most significant is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film will also have a historic release with over 200 prints in South Korea, the firstever for a Bollywood film, in November. “Guzaarish was a highlyawaited screening at the Busan International Film Festival. The 900-seater screen was full. UTV will now work with our local distributors to release Guzaarish theatrically in over 200 screens in South Korea next month,“ confirms Amrita Pandey, senior VP (international distribution & syndication), UTV Motion Pictures.

Released last year, Guzaarish starred Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. Bhansali couldn't be present to grace the event, given the release of his first home production, My Friend Pinto, but he was ecstatic to hear about the feedback. “I feel honoured. I have learnt so much about living a good life, of becoming a better human being and of evolving as a person while working on the film,“ says Bhansali. Not long ago, Guzaarish also made its way to the Academy Awards library. Interestingly, Bhansali's earlier film Black (2005) also met with success when it was released theatrically in South Korea, remaining the highest-grossing Hindi film till date.
