When Hrithik Roshan played Akbar in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar (2008), it was a character he had been familiar with since childhood. Lots of information about the Mughal emperor was easily available too. Now, as he teams up with the film-maker for another period film --Mohenjo Daro, Hrithik is going to need a lot more research. The film will portray Mohenjo-daro, one of the earliest settlements of the Indus Valley Civilisation, which dates back as far as the 26th century BC. Although the actor has been briefed about the story and his character, he wants to do his own research, too, since he isn’t very familiar with the subject. "Hrithik has decided to meet archaeologists to learn about the civilisation in more detail. He wants to know more about the people, their behaviour and some striking features about them that would help him portray his character authentically," says a source close to the actor. Since he will soon start promoting his next, Bang Bang, the actor will only get time to begin his research once the film releases early next month. While Hrithik remained unavailable for a comment, his spokesperson confirmed the development, saying, "He is planning to do proper research of his own for a month once his next film releases."
