He may be regarded as one of Indian cinema’s most adored actor, but that has never stopped the southern superstar Rajinikanth from being a rather grounded individual. After numerous instances of the actor praising fellow artists, we hear of yet another one, this time of Rajinikanth praising Bollywood’s very own Greek god Hrithik Roshan and his film Kaabil.
But Rajini praising Hrithik and Kaabil isn’t a bolt from blue. In fact though not many may know, but Rajinikanth and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan go a long way. Their association was cemented with the 1986 film Bhagwaan Dada that was directed by Hrithik Roshan’s maternal grandfather J Om Prakash and produced by Rakesh Roshan. It was a film in which Hrithik, who was 12 then, had his first speaking part. Over the last three decades Rakesh and Rajini have stayed in touch. As has been a practice for the last 30 odd-years, this year too the Bollywood filmmaker called the Tamil superstar to wish him on his birthday (December 12). Rajini not just thanked him for his good wishes, but in turn, also paid Hrithik Roshan a compliment. “I have watched the Tamil, Hindi and Telugu trailers of Kaabil and I simply loved it. I also think Hrithik is stupendous. Please tell him that I am eagerly awaiting the film.” Apart from praising Hrithik Roshan and the film, Rajinikanth also praised Rajesh Roshan for the music after having watched ‘Kaabil Hoon’ and ‘Haseeno Ka Deewana’ songs.
As for the film, Kaabil that is titled Balam in Telugu and Tamil is said to be a love story with immense emotion and mind boggling action in which Hrithik Roshan and his love interest Yami Gautam are playing a visually impaired (blind) couple.
While the second trailer of the film is slated to be released later today, the film itself that is directed by Sanjay Gupta is being readied for release on January 25, 2017.
