The first look of Hrithik Roshan in the biopic on mathematician Anand Kumar of Super 30 is out, and the actor is practically unrecognisable. Shoot on the Patna teacher’s biopic started in Varanasi on Tuesday. Hrithik will play Bihar resident Anand — who founded Super 30 to prepare underprivileged students for IIT — with training on getting the nuances from the region correct. The hard work, it seems from the first look, has paid off. The actor is sporting a beard and a fringed hair, and his tan looks nothing like the Greek god fans idolise about. He had started on the film on Saraswati Puja last month when he took to Twitter to announce:
“On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja and Basant Panchami, I am beginning my journey of Super 30 where I am playing a teacher for the first time. May the Goddess of learning bless this effort.” After the Varanasi schedule, Hrithik will head to Bhopal and Patna for the shoot. The last schedule will be shot in Patna in May, but the Bihar capital and other cities would be recreated on set in Mumbai.
Director Vikas Bahl of Queen has been working hard to recreate three cities in Mumbai to attain authenticity as a major portion of the film will be shot on sets. Hrithik and team had been frequently meeting Anand to learn about the minute details about the places. The leading lady for the film is yet to be finalised for the film scheduled to release on January 25 next year.
