With ‘Casino Royale’ about to hit screens this Friday, the jury’s still out on whether Daniel Craig will outgun Pierce Brosnan at the box office. Indian fashionistas tell After Hours which Bollywood star would fit best in the role of an Indianised agent 007, his moll and how they’d like to dress them up…

Hemant Trivedi

The man: I can think of two people — Hrithik Roshan for his chiselled looks and fashion statements, and John Abraham for his toned body and macho looks. I’d dress up the Indian James Bond in a Pathan suit, in dark colours. If I had to stick to Western wear, I’d go for impeccable suits ranging from dark blacks to deep greys.

The moll: Mallika Sherawat is my choice for the moll’s role, simply because of her great figure. I’d opt for Indian salwar kurtis, ghagra cholis and off-course chiffon sarees in skin colours. For a more western look, I’d dress her up in form-fitted one piece jump suits and boots.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee

The Man: Amitabh Bachchan would make a great James Bond. I mean, why not? He’s not exactly young but even the James Bonds so far weren’t that young. I’d love to dress him up in a charcoal grey suit with a white shirt, black belt, black shoes and no tie. If I were to come up with an Indian look, I’d go for a black bandhgala and a white churidar.

The moll: The young Zeenat Aman would have done justice to the role. Talking of contemporaries, both Bipasha Basu and Sushmita Sen have the oomph factor. She’d wear a small black skirt, a turtle neck, an alligator skin belt and pointed black stilettos. For an Indian avatar, a slinky black sari with a backless choli.

Rocky S

The man: Hrithik Roshan is the only guy who has the personality to pull off the role of James Bond. I’d dress him up in a classic black and white suit with a hint of red and a tuxedo. It would be a very English look with an Italian fit. I don’t think any Indian attire would look good on James Bond.

The moll: Deepika Padukone is a fresh face and she has the hot ‘n’ sexy look. I’d give her a minimalistic look — plunging necklines, short skirts and dresses. It would be a Western look with no jewellery, just high stilettos.

Falguni Peacock

The man: Hrithik Roshan is undoubtedly best suited for the role. He has the physique and an international look. I’d want to see him in suits with pointed shoes, smart belts and gelled long hair.

The moll: There’s no one like Aishwarya Rai — she’s a global face. I’d have her wear evening gowns for the party scenes and a cat suit for the action scenes. I don’t think there’s any scope to dress them in Indian gear.
