New Delhi,(ANI): He started his innings in Bollywood as an assistant with his father, where his work included sweeping the floor and serving tea to the stars, to learn the business from scratch, and went to get 30000 marriage proposals after his first film hit the theatres in January 2000. He has been called the first complete Bollywood actor who has no weakness and scores very high in every department: face, physique, voice, dancing, drama, romance, action, comedy, macho, softie...the list goes on.
Hrithik Roshan calmly descended upon Bollywood and the country swooned in his arms. His perfectly chisseled features, long legs, rippling biceps, innocent face, deep voice and confidence made him an instant hit with the audiences. Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Dad Rakesh Roshan's launch vehicle for him became a rage like no other.Hrithik's charm worked its magic and the film was a stupendous success.
But it was not destined to be safe landing for Hrithik, as Father Rakesh Roshan was shot at in a murder attempt.Soon after the film, Hrithik became a one-man promotional industry as Beverages, dotcoms, fabrics, almost everybody wanted to cash in on "Hrithikmania". What more, the recall rate of "Coke" went up from 21% to 40% among the youngsters after Hrithik started endorsing it. However, leaving girls world over heartbroken, he married childhood sweetheart "Suzanne Khan." However, controversy did not leave him as his alleged comments on Nepal resulted in riots and matters settled only after political intervention. However, his subsequent releases like Fiza, Mission Kashmir and Yaadein failed to rake any moolah at the box office, which was more to do with poor script than his acting. But then came the resurrection as Karan Johar's K3G was a major hit and silenced his critics. However, his next few releases that included "Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne Lage", "Mujhse Dosti Karoge" and "Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon" again let him down, which was more to do with poor choice than anything else on Hrithik's part.
And just when the critics started labelling him as the next "Kumar Gaurav", Director Rakesh Roshan infused a fresh lease of life into junior Roshan's career with "Koi Mil Gaya."The film, not only raked in the moolah at the box office, but also established him as an actor at the box office. Hrithik then went on to add the Filmfare award and the IIFA award to his kitty for his rivetting portray of a mentally challenged child in "Koi Mil Gaya."He then reached the pinnacle in acting with an excellent portrayal of a confused young man, who ends up becoming a soldier in Farhan Akhtar's "Lakshya".
Although the film did average business, but "Lakshya" would always be a feather in Hrithik Roshan's career. With three super duper hits in Kaho Na Pyar Hai, Koi Mil Gaya and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Hrithik has so far earned around 278 crores at the Box office. While he is as famous as any of his contemporaries, Hrithik Roshan has a stirring sincerity towards his work that sets him apart. No wonder Trade analysts and industry pundits predict he is the most bankable star in Bollywood after the Khans.
