Sussanne Khan, who recently completed a decade of marriage with her hearththrob hubby Hrithik Roshan, is busy these days with her independent venture The Charcoal Project.And even as Hrithik’s career seems to be floundering somewhat on the back of big flops, Sussanne says she still remains the rock of support in his life. “It’s all a part of life. His movies haven’t done well, and maybe someday I might go through similar lows in my business too. But we still respect each other’s professional lives. We don’t force our views on each other. We’re two different individuals and we definitely realise that we need our own space,” she says.
While they continue supporting each other’s careers whole heartedly, interfering or even offering advice is out, she adds. “Hrithik never gives me any advice or guidance, and nor do I. But he remains my backbone,” she informed. Over the last 10 years, while Hrithik became one of the biggest stars in the country, Sussanne has been quietly managing the household and taking care of their two kids. “I am a committed mother. Hrithik is busy with work and doesn’t get time to spare when he’s shooting. But he makes time for family when he isn’t. And the best part is that the children themselves are very understanding. They look at us and know that we are working hard for their future and understand the difficulties of working parents,” she said.
