A Fruit vendor from Chandigarh is making it big in the dancing world. Dinanath’s life took a new turn when he got selected in Just Dance, the reality show on Star Plus, hosted by Hrithik Roshan.
Busy preparing for the show and practicing his steps Dinanath said that God had given him a golden chance and that he was going to take advantage of it to the fullest.
This was the first time that he had faced such a big platform, leaving him with butterflies in his stomach. “When I saw Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant for the first time in the auditions, I got very nervous. I forgot all my steps,” said Dinanath. “For the first time I saw such famous personalities and initially I felt as if I was in a dream,” he admitted.
He can be found in Kalagram, Manimajra practicing his dance steps and polishing his routine along with his friends. Dinanath never took any professional training for dance.
“I learned from my friends whom I want to thank from the bottom of my heart and by watching television,” he added, “But I had learned gymnastics, which has helped me out a lot with my dancing.”
On being asked about Hrithik Roshan, he said, “He is an angel. Even after getting so much of fame, that man is still so down-to-earth.” Sporting the HR bracelet on his right wrist, that he achieved when he cleared the Delhi auditions, he said, “The best moment till now on the show was, when Hrithik gave me his tie and admired my talent. I felt so privileged when I got honored by such a nice person.”
Dinanath’s family is proud of him. “My kids get so excited when they watch me on television. My elder son seems to be following my footsteps. He copies my dance steps and practices themregularly,”he said.
Standing on such a big stage and performing in Mumbai, was a dream come true for Dinanath.
He had already made his mark on Chandigarh, as he had won the award of Chandigarh Dancing Sensation in the event organised by Creativators Event and Production company, last year. But comparing the two cities, Dinanath found a tremendous difference. “In Chandigarh, people know how to dance. But in Mumbai, people along with the talent of dance, posses the talent of presenting the dance,” he said in admiration.
Dinanath, through Just Dance got a great opportunity to polish his dancing skills and interact with people all around the world. “I have learnt Locking dance form there,” he tells. “My roommate is from USA and it is so funny, many a times we cannot understand each other’s languages. No one ever makes me feel that I am a poor fellow, they all treat me equally. Infact, they all respect me a lot, as I am amongst the eldest participants,” he said.
“If you got the talent, try to enhance it. Practice really hard, represent your country on international level and make your nation proud,” a message that he wants to give all those who love to dance.
