Hrithik attributes his Greek God looks to “good genes“, giving the credit to his parents, Rakesh and Pinky Roshan, for having passed them on. The 37-year-old who makes women swoon, is still crazy about his first love.
“I knew when I met Sussanne 12 years ago that I wanted to spend my life with her. A year after we started dating, I took her to Juhu beach and went down on my knees to ask her to be my wife. The big proposal with the ring came later,“ he smiles.
For Hrithik, love goes beyond looks and is rooted in the soul. His favourite onscreen love stories are Koi...Mil Gaya (2003) that forged a bond between a chirpy miss and a specially-abled boy, Guzaarish (2010) that left everything unsaid as it brought a dying man and his nurse closer and Jodhaa Akbar (2008) that was “visually stirring and poetic“.
This year, he scored with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, a film he did for the “love of pure cinema“. His TV debut in Just Dance that got his lookalike 15 proposals added to his fan base, as did the wax lookalike at Madame Tussauds museum in London. He says, “The statue is symbolic of my journey as an actor. I hope it'll inspire my kids to never give up. It's an honour but I can't rest on these laurels. I have to jump off skyscrapers and save the world in Krrish 3.“
