Amid chaos and confusion, Bollywood heartthrobs Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta flew by helicopter to an amusement park here to receive awards decided by over 80,000 school kids.
Hundreds of children and their parents had an exciting time when Hrithik and Preity visited Esselworld on Monday, on the occasion of the Republic Day Brass Band competition and the Chhoton Ka Funda Awards 2003.

The survey among the kids was spread over 15 weeks and conducted by event management firm E=MC2. As soon as the two actors landed at the park, they were herded into a mini train - and hundreds followed the vehicle.
The fun was enhanced by a spectacular dance performance by children from the Terence Lewis Academy. Kids danced to numbers like It's Magic from Hrithik and Preity's film Koi... Mil Gaya and It's The Time to Disco from Kal Ho Naa Ho.
Both Hrithik and Preity have endeared themselves to children after they starred in Koi... Mil Gaya, where Hrithik plays a mentally challenged young boy. The stars joined the dance troupe for a while. Hrithik copied the steps that the children on stage were doing, much to their delight.

Hrithik received the Chhoton Ka Funda Dhishum Dhishum Doley Sholay Award for his swashbuckling muscle and action display in Koi Mil Gaya and the Chhoton Ka Funda Boogie Woogie Award for his dance performance in It's Magic.

Last year, Hrithik was not nominated for the dance at the MTV Immies Awards, which surprised many. On Monday, the star's kiddie fans gave him his due. The bubbly Preity was presented with the Chhoton Ka Funda Soni Kudi Award for Koi Mil Gaya, while her contagious laughter helped her bag the Chhoton Ka Funda Miss Giggles Award. Children gave away the awards to both the stars.

Said Hrithik: "When I was a kid, I used to be crazy about stars like the Big B and had the same enthusiasm as these children. Now I'm experiencing the same situation from the other side of the fence." Preity said she had not giggled as much as she did on Monday for a very long time.
On a philosophical note, she added: "Let's smile and make others smile, for what is life without being and making others happy."
