Flamenco, gastronomy and El Retiro: The tour of Bollywood stars


Indian actors will visit the capital and will dance in a flashmob to promote their 'Oscars'

The eve of the Bollywood's Oscars will start this sunday in Madrid. The 17th edition of the Indian Film awards will start with a Flashmob that will take place in El Prado avenue nest to Cybele Plaza along with 3 Indian stars. Sonakshi Sinha, Anil Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, 45 dancers and anyone who wants to join will dance to Bollywood movie songs. The preparations will start at 1 pm, the artists will arrive one hour after that and the music and dancing will transport people to Mumbai were the indian film industry resides.

At 4 pm the actors will start shooting for videos and photos to promote Madrid in India. The artists will go to the most emblematic places of the city. The Callao Plaza, the Alcalá Gate, St Michael's market, the Buen Retiro Park, The Plaza Mayor, Sabatini Gardens and they will asist to a Flamenco show in the city's downtown. This will go till 6 pm. After that they will have dinner and go back to the hotel to prepare for the Official presentarion of the International Indian Film Academy Awards in June's last week.

On Monday 14th there'll be an official reception to the actors and IIFA's president Sabbas Joseph in the Cybele Palace. The mayor, Manuela Carmena, will receive and present them to the media at 10 am and will deliver a gift from the town. At 10:45 am there'll be a scenography at El Retiro Gardens. At 11 am there'll be a press conference.

Manuela Carmen's government is looking for the oportunity in promoting Madrid to the indian tourists by sponsoring the IIFA awards. It is expected that the awards will benefit the city with 15 million euros. Th Awards will take place from june 24th to june 26th when 15.000 people will arrive to enjoy the event.

Madrid will be an addition to the long list of cities were the IIFA's has been held since 2000: London, Johannesburgo, Singapur, Ámsterdam, Dubái, Bangkok, Toronto, Kuala Lumpur...
The government is hopefull with the first investment arriving the city given the consistiry will give 1 million euros that will be recovered through the sponsors. The Green carpet awards are coming. The countdown starts this sunday.
