On Dec 17, Hrithik Roshan and Dr. P. S. Pasricha, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai launched a new celebrity magazine Cafe Celeb. The event was followed by a spectacular firework display. Cafe Celeb is a 150-page glossy with a double gatefold cover, pertaining to the celebrities from all walks of life. The magazine is the dream of Vinod Kumar Pittie, Shalimar Productions Ltd., who wanted to bring out a non-controversial, non-gossip magazine. Ironically, the Editor & Publisher of the magazine, Pammi Somal is better known for breaking the most controversial stories in the last twenty years, the recent one being Barbara Taylor Bradford v/s Karishma. Says Pammi, Cafe Somal is what I always wanted to do, but you need someone with courage and integrity to bring out a magazine without gossip, sarcasm and naughty pictures in the age when only skin is selling. Vinod wanted a magazine that we can all keep in our living rooms and yet sell with the public, so when they met me I thought this was my chance to show what I can do and not what the magazines have always wanted out of me
