Two months ago, the publishers threw a bash to announce the magazine. December 17 was a red-letter day for the publishers as they formally launched the first edition of Café Celeb, which makes an effort to bring celebrities from all walks of life to normal people.

The launch party, held at Hotel Tulip Star, was indeed stylish, with Hrithik Roshan opening a door [the magazine cover was pasted on it] and stepping out to formally launch the magazine.

The formal release of the magazine [it has two covers!] was conducted by the Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, P.S. Pasricha and Dr. Natrajan. Smita Thackeray, Preity Zinta, leading singer Sonu Nigam and a number of celebrities graced the occasion to wish the people behind the magazine the very best.

A monthly, Café Celeb features interesting news-items, interviews and pics of people from all walks of life, from industrialists to cops to doctors and of course, film personalities. Priced at Rs. 10, this 150-page glossy is edited-published by Pammi Somal, while Vinod Kumar Pittie of Shalimar Productions is the President.

Mumbai, Dec.18 : The Police Commissioner took a break from his policing duties to attend the star-studded launch of a new magazine called "Cafe Celeb". The police Commissioner was in the company of the heartthrob of the country, Hrithik Roshan.
Both of them unveiled the first edition of the magazine amidst firecrackers on an unusually cold Mumbai night. Mr. P.S. Parsicha, who also graces the cover of the first edition, was hopeful that the magazine would not be just another gossip mag, but would rise above the sensationalism which is associated with celebrity magazines.
The people who are responsible for the launch of the magazine aim to target the middle class segment of consumers and hope that it will appeal to the sensibilities of both the young and the old.
There were quite a few celebrities at the launch to give their support the magazine. They are hopeful that this magazine will not indulge in the gossip that most film-magazines do.
