Hrithik Roshan -- He Came, He Saw, He Conquered Hearts Of Millions ...
Bollywood is known to be the world’s leading film industry, with the production of 200+ films globally every year. Through the entertainment this industry provides to the infinite South Asian crowds around the world, it tends to touch the heart of many audiences through generations. Legendary actors and actresses such as Raj Kapoor, Amitabh Bachan, Shahrukh Khan, Nargis, Madhuri Dixit, and Kajol Mukherjee are just a few of those accepted personalities that have left an imprint on the hearts of these audiences. Today, a well known name not only to this Indian film industry, but also soon to be known in the Hollywood world, the man with a magical smile, gratuitous words, and the eclectic moves, the one and only Heart Throb that is, without a doubt, stealing the hearts of girls all the way from the city of Mumbai, to New York, to Toronto and even Birmingham U.K. Words are not enough to describe this beautiful personality that is breath taking from his first ever movie, Kaho Na Pyar Hai, the one and only, HRITHIK ROSHAN. His recent international tour covering several cities in the U.S.A., U.K., and even Canada, accompanied by the pop sensation Rageshwari, the cute, innocent, young face, Aftab Shivadasani, the model turned actor, Arjun Rampal, the Kapoor generations’ sisters Karishma and Kareena Kapoor, several other dancers, and the choreographer Ganesh Hegde, the tour is successfully completed in all the cities in these 3 nations. Following is a review posted up by a Hrithik Fan, Rahil Tejani, who encountered the experience of Heart Throbs LIVE in Concert in Dallas, Texas on June 14th, 2002.
The show that I had been counting down to for the past 2 months, which was being advertised on all the Indian channels, here in the U.S, posters of the Heart Throbs being published in all the local Indian grocery stores, and announcements being made from time to time on the local radio station, had made me build up excitement like I had never encountered for this show known as Heart Throbs live in concert. The stars were to perform in the Dallas Convention Center on June 14th, 2002. From the past concert, being done in a nearby city, Houston, I had heard, that the concert had to have started at 8:30 pm sharp thus, I was seated at my spot at this time along with my sister (who by the way is obsessed with Hrithik) and my parents. Ofcourse they didn’t even start the show till 9:30 pm. Once it got started, people were ready to see what these stars were REALLY about.
The opening act was done by the young, Indian pop sensation, Rageshwari. This girl is SO cute and was a really good performer. She danced on few of her songs, ‘Is Haat Le Us Dede, Oye Shava’ and a couple of others. She was also the host for the show, and from the past concerts I have visited, this one was different to start with. Usually, in the past MC’s just introduce the acts being put on, but Rags was very interactive with the audience. She even came in the audience a few times to ask the audience how they were enjoying the show. After Rageshwari, came the young and charming actor, Aftab Shivdasani. He was such a cutie. He has a GORGEOUS smile. He started off his act with his bit ‘Deewana Tera Hai’ from his movie ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe’ and it looked really adorable. I have to admit, Aftab couldn't really dance very well, but the sweet expressions on his face, covered up for his weak dance moves. Towards the end of his performance, he threw balls in the audiences that HE kissed himself. Following Aftab, was the charismatic, and youthful Karishma Kapoor. She did her intro on the title song to her award winning movie ‘Fiza’. Karishma’s dance moves were so vigorous but I felt she should've started with her fast hit number ‘Legai Legai’. Anyway, this girl is so PRETTY. Despite being the only actress, today, to have won the most ‘Best Actress’ awards, Karishma was so humble and modest about her achievements.
Next came the dashing model turned actor, the sophisticated and suave, Arjun Rampal. He is so SEXY!! I was literally drooling when he came out he was very HOT. He danced on his hit song ‘Jaan Leva’ from the movie Moksha. It was remarkable. As if his delightful smile, and his body was not enough to get the girls doing, towards the end of his performance, Arjun took off his shirt!
Consequently, after Arjun came the ‘cutie beauty’ (as said on Zee TV) the young Kareena Kapoor. Kareena today is known for her acting as ‘POO’ in her recent movie, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ and that is what she started her presentation out with. Now if you know me, personally, I dislike Kareena Kapoor a lot, but from her other fans, they felt she looked better in person than she does in the movies. Following her ‘POO’ acting, she danced to her songs from the movie ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai’
and FINALLY .... TICK TICK TICK TICK (in the words of Rageshwari) ....
HRITHIK ROSHAN!! --- Ahh … just when Rags said Hrithik Roshan ... cameras flashed, girls screamed, and the whole arena was echoing with the words of girls screaming "HRITHIK I LOVE YOU". He did his dance on the song ‘Ek Pal Ka Jeena’ from his movie ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’, rather a remix of this song. I loved his moves on this song but I personally felt he should’ve done ‘Hawao Ne Yeh Kaha’ from his movie ‘Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage’ now that would've been something! Also I felt they should've brought him on the stage in a different manner maybe in a car, from a trolley, from the audience, from the top, in a helicopter, whichever, would’ve been more preferable. Some girls in addition to the yelling and screaming made little posters that said "Hrithik I <3 U" Every time Hrithik came in the audience, girls bombarded him. Just for a little touch, a sweet smile, or a tender kiss, girls went crazy. I envy Suzanne Khan, his wife. She is the luckiest girl on this planet! The shine in his eyes, the magic in his smile, the gratefulness in his words, and the energy in his body .... I am serious every time this guy came on stage ..... my heart started beating harder. I had a friend Rizwan Mohammed who had a tiny conversation with Hrithik on his tour to London and I cannot figure out how exactly Rizwan managed to speak to Hrithik because just seeing his presence, I would've fainted! Anyway, at the end of his performance Hrithik greeted the audience with a "Hello Dallas Texas", he continued by saying, "I wish there was enough of me for all of you’ll (so sweet) but honestly speaking, I don’t want to be here on this stage at this moment, I want to be there (pointing in the audience) amongst you’ll" (aww) and he left by saying "I love you Dallas Texas"
Next in line was a singer, KK. He sung songs like ‘Tadap Tadap’ from the movie ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Koi Kahe Kehta Rahe’ from the movie ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and the one from the movie ‘AKS’ ‘Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai’ Now they had both Karishma and Aftab do a skit from Karishma’s movie ‘Biwi No.1’ which consisted of ‘Hai Hai Mirchi‘ and the title song from Biwi No. 1 and a few from Aftab’s movie ‘Mast’
Next, Hrithik and Kareena came together to do some songs from a film where they worked together called ‘Yaadein’ including songs like ‘Jab Dil Miley’ (Hrithik looked HOT) and ‘Rind Posh Maal’ from ‘Mission Kashmir’ and of course ‘Bumbro’
Now Arjun and Kareena did songs from Kareena’s movie ‘Asoka’ they did songs like ‘San Sana nana’ ... ‘Roshni Se’ ... O Re Kanchi (Arjun was marvelous in here)
Also ... Arjun did this surprise element ... It was quite funny and interesting. Arjun, in addition to the surprise, called about 40 girls on stage and danced on ‘Pyar Ishq Aur Mohabbat with them’
Next, they called the choreographer Ganesh Hegde on stage. This guy has got REAL TALENT he could move even better then the famous Bollywood dancer, Prabhu Deva. Rags was right when she said, "These stars take breaks between performances, but the dancers have a nonstop routine of changing and going back and forth". I am a great fan of Ganesh Hegde and have loved him since his choreographed show done back in 1998 at the Filmfare awards in Mumbai. His dancers did such a GREAT job.
Then Hrithik did songs from his first movie, ‘Kaho Na Pyar Hai’ such as ‘Pyaar Ki Kashti Mein’ and ‘Dil Ne Dil Ko Pukara’ and when he did the title song, he dedicated it to his dad who was also in the audience. Hrithik kissed and threw heart pillows in the audience towards the end of his performance although I wasn't lucky enough to get one.
In the grand finale, Aftab did 'Dil Pe Chhane Laga' from his movie ‘Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai’ and Arjun did the title song to his latest flick ‘Aakhen’ accompanying a laser show. Kareena did ‘Bole Chudiyan’ she actually started it by herself, then Aftab did it with her, he left then Karishma and Arjun did a different paragraph of the same song, then Hrithik and Kareena came back together and finally all six of them came back, Aftab and Rageshwari, Arjun and Karishma, and Hrithik and Kareena. It was tremendous!! After the show was over, Hrithik stormed out so he wouldn’t get stopped by fans and Aftab called him back on stage to tell their fans they love them! Aftab was throwing out flying kisses and Arjun, Aftab, and Hrithik kept telling everyone they love them!
For the people that did not go to this show, you missed it! Never seen one like this and I doubt it will even get better than this! Although I may see Hrithik back on the big screen with his next venture in Bollywood, it is evident that I will never be looking at him as I did before this show, I am still recovering from the anxiety of this show, and the reality that had remained a dream in my mind for months now of seeing Hrithik Roshan! This is for a fact that Hrithik IS and WILL FOREVER remain a HEART THROB for us fans. Can’t believe its over!
