DURBAN: Indian screen legend Amitabh Bachchan was joined by Bollywood stars Sunjay Dutt, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Rani Mukherjee and Shah Rukh Khan in thrilling some 50,000 fans in the 'Now or Never' show, a concert held at a rugby stadium here.
While Mukherjee and Khan captured the hearts of the youngsters, Bachchan proved that he was still the greatest at 60. The three of them received a standing ovation by the large crowd when they sang a song from the hit film Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham.
The teenage heart-throb Hrithik Roshan was a favourite especially with the ladies. The handsome actor's steps had the local women going
wild.
Karishma Kapoor, Kareena, Shilpa Shetty, Preity Zinta and Sanjay Dutt also attracted wild applause from the enthusiastic fans who said it was a high caliber and quality concert.
It's something I have not seen before, Krivani Pillay, one of the spectators said.
"We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I think more than 50,000 people who were here also had a fun time."
Another fan, Maya Jagjivan, said the show, dubbed the greatest show on earth, "was definitely a night to remember."
The stars performed for more than five hours and it was terrific, she said.
Pregarsen Govender, who arrived from Pretoria with his wife for the concert, said Shah Rukh Khan appeared to have connected with the audience very well.
He invited people to the stage to dance with him and gave them presents. I think this was a very nice gesture. It showed that he really likes to bond with his fans, he said.
