Hrithik nervous about Durban extravaganza

With many looking forward to the spectacular Now or Never Live Concert at Durban's ABSA Stadium on December 28 to catch a glimpse of their favorite Bollywood hunka, gorgeous leading ladies and legend Amitabh Bachchan, POst had the opportunity of cnnecting with rising Bollywood star and blue-eyed boy, Hrithik Roshan, who shot to fame in his debut movie and home production Kaho Naa Pyar Hai under the directorship of his father, Rakesh Roshan. To my surprise he is experiencing a bit of stage fright at living up to fans' expectations. Having just received the rehearsal schedule, which began on Monday, Hrithik who will be jetting in with his wife Suzanne Khan, spoke of his
fears, the great support he is looking to receive from the Durbanites and the great honour he feels to be part of the biggest Bollywood troupe to grace a stage in this one-off glamour event.

Q: What can South African fans expect from you?
H: I hope they are not expecting too much - just joking. I am going to do my best and I hope I can live up to their expectations, that is what I will be striving for: IT will be hard work and I hope it pays off.

Q: What are u expecting from the Durban crowd?
H: When I was down last year for the IIFA awards people seemed very supportive and were cheering me on. It was a very nice feeling to see such great people and I just hope I live up to their expectations. It will be my first time in Durban and I am expecting just as nice a reception. I am really looking forward to coming to Durban.

Q: Will u be extending your stay in SA?
H: I won't be able to and I will be rushing back the next day. I wish I could spend more time in SA but I am currently preparing for rehearsals for my dad's new movie - Koi Mil Gaya that's close to my heart, and I hope it gets what it deserves. It's ground breaking as its science fiction about a mentally challenged man, who I play.

Q: What do u think of the Bollywood Now or Never Live Concert, considering u r part of 10-star troupe to come together at one venue and is being held in SA?
H: It's going to be the biggest extravaganza. I was actually surprised when I was approached to be a part of it and I am a little bit anxious because I am going to be with legends like Mr. Bachchan and Mr. Sanjay Dutt among them. It's an absolute honour and I am looking forward to it being lots of fun and it being great.

Q: What will u b performing and what can we expect from u?
H: I have just received my rehearsal schedule, so I am not sure exactly what I will be doing. I will be performing from movies like Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai and few other movies like Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham, Mission Kashmir and Fiza. There is going to be lots of songs and dances, although I am not exactly sure what I will be doing but i do know there
will be performances with Preity, Karishma and Rani for certain songs and its going to be a mix-match.

Q: Do u have any favorite movie song/dance sequence that u will be or would like to perform?
H: I am sure the best song/dance sequence will be chosen. One of the songs that I have done is Ek Pal Se Jeena(from Kaho Naa Pyar Hai) which gives me a great high. The kind of reaction is something else - it lifts my spirits and it's a good challenge. The song has that kind of magic.

Q: Can we expect any surprises from u?
H: Choreographer Ganesh Hedge(of the Hedge Dance Group) always has a bag full of surprises and I am sure that he has some extravagant entrance. He is known for his surprises and he is very talented and people can expect a whole lot from him.

Q: You are considered to be a talented dancer - what's your comment to this?
H: I am not a good dancer but I work hard until I get it right. I take a long time to learn certain steps and then I have to work on them a lot. It's a job and I strive for perfection in whatever I do.

Q: What would u like SA to know about u?

H: I would like them to know that I will be looking for a lot of support and encouragement. I do get scared as well when I am on stage and there is a slight fear of performing in front of such a huge crowd, but I am looking forward to it and am really eager to get to Durban.

Q: A message to your fans?

H: Be good and trust in God. If u r good, then life will be good.
