I want to dance till I’m 95: Hrithik Roshan

Source: Asianage Date: Aug 28, 2014 By: Nandini D. Tripathy Dapper Hrithik Roshan feels it’s time for him to give back and inspire others. And admits it’s a driving need in him to perfect a job till it meets his satisfaction It is not too often that you see a member of an electronic media crew, temper threatening to flare for reasons purely logistical, being offered a lozenge by Hrithik Roshan to cool down and sweeten up. The sight is oddly hilarious and heartwarming. The actor who was in the capital recently to launch the new DiaMaster collection by Rado, was at his coolest and calmest as he spoke about wanting to do more movies, responded to rumours of tantrum-throwing on the sets of his upcoming movie Bang Bang and revealed his method of finding motivation within himself to make all days good days even in the lowest of phases. “I haven’t become exclusive by choice,” he begins in response to why one hasn’t seen him in a greater number of movies over the past few years. “It’s just how things have panned out. For instance, I was hoping that Bang Bang would be a very quick and short film for me, but you know how the situation is now. Hopefully with time you’ll see me doing something like four films in a year. I was never averse to working like that but I also think it is possible that people who make such films don’t come to me because of my track record of doing these big mountains of projects. I would gladly do a smaller film that can be shot in 25 days and promise to give it my all,” he shares. On the phenomenal response that Bang Bang has garnered already, he quips, “I’m really happy with the reaction the trailer and the song have received. Acting is my service to the world and such things tell me that I’m going in the right direction. I feel so motivated to keep going and at the same time am so proud and happy!” Accompanying his drive to entertain the world is his penchant for perfection and passion for dance. Responding to rumours of having asked for a change in his pair of shoes six times during a dance sequence, the actor leaves it to the world to make of his actions what it may. “I want to dance till I’m 95 years old and for that, I need to get certain things right. My job is to do the steps well and also to protect my knee so that I can keep doing them. If I feel during a sequence that a pair of shoes is stressing my knee, I will change it even if it means changing 10 pairs of shoes,” he asserts. Does this urge to do and be his best tie up with his philosophy of life at a more personal level, keeping in mind the many motivational messages he gives out via Twitter? “Life keeps me going and keeps me passionate. It gives me so many opportunities and so many challenges too. The encouraging messages I give out come from my own experiences and embody ways to defy your mind whenever you’re stacking too many negative thoughts. There are days when I don’t feel like stepping out of bed and doing anything. At such moments, what do you do to not sink into a downward spiral? You stand up with a Kung Fu pose and defy your mind, creating a wonderful day out of what began as a very bad, low one. So, I wake up and do every single one of the things I wasn’t feeling like doing. And while doing that, I realise that I’m doing more with a day than I have ever done with one in my entire life! These are lessons that I have learnt and I feel that this is a time for me to give back and inspire. If it can work for me, it can work for you and for everyone else,” he concludes.
