A set of a chawl has been constructed at Versova, where the two are shooting some scenes for the film. Producer Karan Johar admits his Agneepath remake has more action than any film produced under his banner; release planned for the end of the year Filmmaker Karan Johar admits that the Agneepath remake, from the rushes he has seen, is unarguably the most action-packed film produced under his banner Dharma Productions by far. The production company's first release was the 1980 actiondrama Dostana with Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman and Shatrughan Sinha. “I've not been keeping tabs on Agneepath's progress. I've left the project to Karan (director Karan Malhotra) because I trust his vision. His script was fantastic. Hrithik came on board after just one narration. And I detest interfering with any director's work. But the rushes that I saw just blew me away. I've never seen so much violence, action and blood shed in another Dharma Productions movie,“ asserts Karan.
While the film went on floors in January, actors Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra joined in much later, in February and March. Hrithik, particularly, has shot action sequences, coined by fight director Abbas Ali Mogul, after beefing up to play Vijay Dinanath Chauhan. While filming one of the sequences, the actor also bruised his hand. On another occasion, he had to strangle a guy with his arm. The shot was completed in one take with the help of a stuntman, who was posing as the actor's subject in the scene. “They've been shooting day and night on the streets of the city depending on the sequences. I won't comment on any scene in particular at the moment because it gives away too much too soon. But the team has shot some fabulous riot sequences, they look as real as it gets,“ beams Karan. “There are some heavy-duty fight scenes with Hrithik. He's doing stuff in this movie he's never done before.“
The producer-director plans to release the film, which is a tribute from him to his late father Yash Johar, towards the end of the year. Does he plan to have a premiere in the city, and invite the original Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, Amitabh Bachchan for it? “It's too early to speak on the release plans, but I'd love Amit uncle to see the movie. And I'm hoping, he likes what he eventually sees".

Sanjay Dutt is beefing up for his negative character of Kancha Cheena in Agneepath.
He has been working out twice a day — one hour of cardio and a hour and a half of weights. The actor says, “ I had to do it for me and all my fans. I had to be in shape again, and want to thank Ajay ( Devgn) and Salman ( Khan) to push me to get back. Ajay inspired me to work out and get this look during the Rascals shoot in Bangkok. He is like a brother to me.” Agneepath’s next schedule is in Diu for over a month.
