The songs in Kaabil are composed by Hrithik Roshan's uncle and veteran composer Rajesh Roshan
Salim Merchant, who along with brother Sulaiman has composed the background score of Hrithik Roshan-starrer Kaabil, says it is impressive how involved the actor is in the film’s music.
Salim says every day he has meetings with Hrithik, director Sanjay Gupta and film’s producer Rakesh Roshan about the music.
“Kaabil is killing us! It’s the biggest project for us (Salim-Sulaiman). I have to be a part of the movie. Hrithik, Rakeshji and Sanjay Gupta are all into it to make the film a great project. Hrithik is hugely involved in how everything is shaping up. Even today he is coming to the studio to check a few things,” Salim said in an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com.
The composer further heaped praise on the Krrish star. He said Hrithik has a fantastic taste in music.
“He has a good ear for music. He has always been appreciative and supportive of music. He comes from a music family so, they all are big supporters of music. It’s a pleasure working with them. Their team work (Rakesh and Hrithik) is amazing. There’s no friction, which, one would normally expect considering they both are stars,” Salim said.
Kaabil, also stars Yami Gautam and Ronit Roy, and is set to clash with superstar Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees at the box office in January 2017.
Salim, however, is hopeful that the clash will not hamper Kaabil’s chances.
“Kaabil touched me emotionally. I am saying this as an audience. It is not just about two blind people. It is about human relationships. It has many emotions involved. So, even though it is coming against Raees, I am certain it will do very well,” he said.
