He made his debut as a child star in Bhagwan Dada. His first film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai was a superhit. In his recent release Krrish, a sequel to koi mil gaya, he plays a superhero with supernatural powers I was always the pet of my teachers in school probably because I was considered to be very cute. Because of my innocent looks I usually got away with a lot of mischief. I was spoilt and pampered by everyone. All I had to do was sport a lost-boy look and I would have things my way. At home too, if I wasn’t given something I wanted, I would simply sit with a long face till I got it. Though my father was part of the film industry, he never allowed me to visit him on the sets. Nor did he allow me to watch any film shooting which took place in the studios. My sister and I used to fight like cats and dogs but she was and still is very fond of me. We have always been the best of friends. I was always up to some mischief. I still find a particular incident from my childhood very amusing. We used to live on the 13th floor of a building and I was great friends with this boy called Punish. One day, Punish and I thought that we should do something really naughty. We were playing on the terrace of our building and were feeling very bored. We wanted to do something more exciting than playing games.
There were crates of empty beer bottles lying on the terrace. Probably they had been left there after some terrace party. One by one, we started chucking the bottles down without caring about the people who were walking on the street below. Some people started shouting at us when the bottles hit them but we didn’t care. We carried on, hurling one bottle after another. Suddenly, out of the blue, my father came back home unexpectedly. He was absolutely livid and I got the beating of my life. This is one incident that I have not been able to forget. But I must say that every time my father scolded or punished me, he would make it a point to talk to me nicely later and make up. At heart, he is a real softie no matter how stern or strict he pretends to be .
