Dhoom machayi!

Source: Mumbai Mirror Date: November 29,2006 By: Ram Kamal Mukherjee Hrithik Roshan has been on a roll this year, professionally as well as personally. A baby, two blockbusters and a whopping multi-crore deal later, Hrithik seems to be approaching the year-end on a very good note. The actor talks about his Rs 30 crore deal with his customary modesty. "It's just another deal that I have been signed on for by Adlab Films. It's a three film contract," he says. The buzz is that his father Rakesh Roshan will direct one of the three films. Is that true? "It's too early to talk about the films as nothing has been decided yet. But one thing is for sure. None of the films will be directed by my dad," he says. Hrithik has been shooting incessantly in the last two years and has decided to reward himself with a mini-vacation now. He has taken a four-day break from Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodha Akbar. He is in Mumbai, mainly to gauge reactions to Dhoom 2. "I am a little tired responding to 200 SMSes per day, but I am very happy," he says. The actor has to his credit Krrish and Dhoom 2, two of the biggest films of the year. Hrithik also carries the tag of being the highest paid actor in Bollywood. Is he feeling proud? "I don't succumb to flattery. For me, it's not about competition and it's not about being number one in this industry. I feel that it's about enjoying what you do, and being thankful for what you have. Thanks to my family and my friends, my head is on my shoulders. By now, I know for a fact that you are up one day and down, the next," explains Hrithik. A director's actor, Hrithik is impressed with Ashutosh Gowarikar's professionalism on the sets of Jodha Akbar. "I thought that it would be stressful, which is expected common when you shoot a film like this. But so far, there have been no delays or problems. Ashu is extremely organised," he says. Known to be sincere to his craft, does Hrithik give inputs towards developing his character of Akbar, on the sets? "A character develops every second and every day. It's very difficult to point to any particular thing, but yes, we are working very hard," says Hrithik. Recently, Hrithik has been told that he has completely overshadowed Abhishek Bachchan in Dhoom 2. To add to it, the passionate kissing scene with Aishwarya Rai made it even worse. Apparently Abhishek Bachchan was unhappy with the on-screen kiss too. "I don't think that's right. No one can overshadow anyone in Dhoom 2," says Hrithik. The actor is still recuperating from elbow pain. "I met with an accident while shooting for Krrish in Singapore, and I keep getting this pain from time to time. Well, I met my doctor and he assured me that it isn't getting any worse," he says.
