Hrithik Roshan, one of the co-judges on a TV talent hunt contest, celebrated without inhibition on the last day of the Agneepath schedule that's left him battered and bruised Hrithik Roshan just returned from a month-long schedule of Agneepath in Diu battered and bruised. “I don't think I've worked this hard in my entire life... I feel like I've been steamrolled, I must be getting old,“ admits the 37-year-old star with a dry chuckle.
It wasn't just the fact that they were shooting action sequences that made the shoot gruelling but also that it was in a rocky mountainous terrain. “I was dragged on my back and chest. I had ice packs on my knees and elbows and returned home black and blue. I have a zillion scratches and bruises on my stomach,“ sighs Hrithik, but adds that at the end of the day, there's the satisfaction of having canned some incredible stunts. “It's this passion for good cinema that drives you to take all this pressure and pain.“ Hrithik, who is co-judging a talent hunt contest Just Dance with Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant, took the title of his TV show literally and let his hair down at the wrap-up party on the last night in Dui. “I threw my hands and legs around and just let myself go,“ he reminisces with a smile. “I must have looked stupid but it was a liberating feeling to be finished with the action. And soon the rest of the crew and cast were taking a cue from me and joining in.“
For Hrithik, dancing is not about aesthetics and perfectly choreographed moves. It's about celebrating the little moments in life and enjoying them without inhibition. “The first man who danced didn't have a choreographer, did he?“ he asks. “Anyone from four to a 100 can dance, anywhere, anytime, without worrying about looking good. He can do it alone in the shower, with his partner in the rain or his kids in the park."
Meanwhile, Hrithik is all excited about Amitabh Bachchan's Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap. “I've just seen the promos and they took me back to the time when I was 12 years old and Amit uncle was doing films like Deewar, Hum and Shahenshah. The film is a treat for Bachchan fans and I'm one of them,“ he exults. One of Bachchan's iconic movies was Agneepath and his character in Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap is called Vijju, obviously as a throwback to Vijay Deenanath Chauhan.
Is Hrithik prepared for the inevitable comparisons when Karan Johar's Agneepath remake unveils in the theatres on January 13, 2012? “In my mind, there are no comparisons because Agneepath for me is just another film,“ he retorts. “There's no manipulation and calculation. I reacted to the script instinctively and related to it without a thought for the original Agneepath. And there's no effort to do things differently, just convincingly.“
