Hrithik Roshan celebrated his birthday yesterday, but the party began on Wednesday night. However, this time the venue wasn’t another Mumbai hotspot. Sussanne Roshan along with her buddies chose to celebrate Hrithik’s birthday aboard a luxury yatch. A few close friends, were ferried from the Gateway of India to the yatch, where the party was held. Also seen here were Sunny Dewan, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Ana Singh, Surily Goel and Chunky and Bhawana Pandey. The party hearties returned ashore in the early hours of the morning.

Over champagne and chocolate cake, guests at his yacht party fondly recalled the first time they met him The party hosted by Sussanne for Hrithik on the eve of his birthday on Wednesday, turned out to be a great opportunity for his friends to sail back in time and recall the first time they met him. On Sunny Dewan’s yacht that left the Gateway jetty in the evening with the likes of Karan Johar, Gauri Khan, Abhishek Kapoor, Anna Singh, Arjun and Mehr, Preity Zinta, Farah Khan Ali, Chunky Pandey, Sonali Bendre and Goldie Behl to name a few, the Roshans partied till the sun went up and their cool aviators came out. Hrithik was reportedly a bundle of emotions, greeting his guests with a warm hug, thanking them for making it to his ‘surprise’ party. We hear, he was pretty much clueless about the yacht plan till pretty late in the evening.

The party kicked off with the customary cake cutting - it was a sinful chocolate and strawberry pile – followed by emotional speeches. We hear the effervescent Miss Zinta made one of the longest ones while Sussanne received the max applause as she recounted the first time she met her hubby at a traffic signal. “It was a small group of people who get along with each other famously,” said a guest on request of anonymity. “A reason why it was such a pleasant affair.” The mood on Hrithik’s yacht remained upbeat, with plenty of dancing and some madcap shades that had everyone unleash the party animals within. “There was no Hindi music, and no one was allowed to sit down… it was Hrithik’s party after all!” said a guest who is yet to recover from the experience. It was around 7 am that the satiated bunch sailed back. For a change, this turned out to be a party where guests remained friends even after the last bottle was emptied out.
