Hrithik Rohan has had an array of successful films ever since he started off his Bollywood career. While the start of his career with Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, fetched him immense success and popularity, his success graph saw some major roadblocks. However, the stupendous actor did not give up and continued to excel in his field of acting.One such film of his which could not perform well at the box-office, but later on went on to become one of his most successful performances was Lakshya.
Directed by Farhan Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, starring Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles, the movie is about Hrithik's character trying to find himself. Hrithik Roshan plays the role of Lieutenant (later acting Captain) Karan Shergill, who develops from an aimless young man into an army officer. It is a coming-of-age story set against a fictionalised backdrop of the 1999 Kargil War.
Today as the movie completed 14 glorious years, it continues to remain one of the best comin-of-age movies by the youth filmmaker Farhan Akhtar. The movie which highlights the tough life of Army men also featured actual Indian Army officers. Seeing both the actors and officers in the same getup, at times actress Preity Zinta would get confused separating the actual officers from the actors. Hrithik took to his Instagram to reminisce these 14 years of the movie Lakshya which earned him the tag of a ‘versatile actor’.
