TV actor Nandish Singh will play the role of Pranav Kumar, brother of Super 30 founder Anand Kumar, on whose life a film is being made with Hrithik Roshan playing the lead. Titled Super 30, the film is expected to be released next year. Super 30 provides free coaching to poor meritorious students for the IIT entrance examination. The selection of Nandish was finalised after a recent visit of Pranav to Mumbai during which he had a long discussion with the film director Vikas Bahl and cast director Mukesh Chhabra before the name of the TV actor was finalised. "Pranav was made to meet several actors who had been shortlisted for the role and after he approved Nandish for the role, the director and the cast director had a long discussion with him after which a final call was taken on this selection," a source close to the making the of this film told The Telegraph on Wednesday. The shooting of the film got underway recently and Hrithik, said a source, shot a few scenes with Murnal Singh, who would be playing Anand's wife in the movie.
The source also revealed that Pranav and Nandish had a long chat during which the actor collected a lot of information related to Pranav's life. "The two have also exchanged phone numbers and keep on sharing information which might help Nandish in doing justice to the role he would be playing in the film," added the source. Pranav has played an important role in the success of Super 30, as he along with other family members, worked very hard in the background for providing all kinds of support to run the initiative successfully.
The source also revealed that Pranav would have to make some more rounds of Mumbai as the makers of the films are being very particular about every aspect of the film and there would be some scenes in the movie in which Nandish would have to play a violin as Pranav does in real life. Anand's father late Rajendra Prasad used to play the violin and the tradition is being carried on by his younger brother. Started in 2002, Super 30 provides free coaching to meritorious students coming from weaker sections of the society for the IIT entrance examination. The selected students stay with Anand and they also get food for free during their stay. Pranav plays an important role in managing the things related to running the show. So far, this one-of-its-kind initiative has been able to send 396 of its students to different IITs of the country while remaining ones too have been selected for other engineering colleges.
