Hrithik Roshan returns home today. Speaking late in the night from hospital on Sunday he said, "It was an allergic reaction to the antibiotics I was taking. Lungs and throat went into spasm. I reached hospital just in time. All is cool now. I'm under observation." Hrithik's role as a quadriplegic in Guzaarish seems to have taken more from him than he had bargain for. On Sunday evening he was rushed to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after a suspected allergy attack that was so violent that the star gave his family the scare of a lifetime.
On reaching the hospital at around 4 pm Hrithik was put under immediate surveillance by a battery of doctors.
An hour after being admitted, unable to speak and in evident pain Hrithik said on the sms, "It was an allergic reaction. I made it to the hospital just in time. Fifteen minutes more could've proved fatal. They're trying to figure out what it is. Lungs just closed. I got here to hospital just in time. My voice-box is affected."
At the time of writing Hrithik was under observation at Kokilaben with parents and wife Susanne besides him. News of Hrithik's hospitalization began to spread in the film industry by late evening.
In high spirits and probably relieved to have overcome the terrible moments of health distress Hrithik was resting and recovering well under strict observation.
"So finally I am in hospital. Damn so much to do!' sms-sed Hrithik chuckling in the face of adversity, just like his character in Guzaarish.
Hrithik has been very unwell for the last one week with suspected malaria (wrong alarm) barely able to get out of bed in the past few days but compelled to be physically active to promote his film.
But the spirited Hrithik says, "It's all good. It's always good. I was celebrating Guzaarish at home. Now I'm celebrating in hospital."

Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan Monday was discharged from hospital here Monday, a day after he was admitted following an allergic reaction to an antibiotic medicine.
'Hrithik is perfectly fine now. He had recovered yesterday (Sunday) itself but the family and the doctors wanted to keep him under observation for the night to be doubly sure. He is absolutely healthy now and ready to resume his routine,' the actor's spokesperson told IANS.
The star left the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital at around 11 a.m., the spokesperson added.
On Sunday evening, the allergic reaction to the medicine was so severe that the actor gave his family the scare of their lives. According to Hrithik, his lungs and throat had gone into a spasm and he could not breathe.
Hrithik was rushed to hospital at around 4 p.m. and was put under immediate surveillance by a battery of doctors.
The family is now relieved that the 36-year-old is fine.
'By the grace of god my Hrithik is much much better... Most random one in a million allergic reaction!,' Hrithik's wife Sussanne wrote on her Twitter account.
