In an industry known for relationships that seldom last, there are two that have stood the test of time. Gauri and Shah Rukh, Suzanne and Hrithik: two superstar couples in the Indian film industry who are envied by the entire nation. And what’s more… very few know that the two superstar wives are very close friends, yet as different as chalk and cheese – the very reason why Koffee with Karan acquires a delightful new flavour this Friday, as Gauri Khan and Suzanne Roshan tell all about their fairytale romances, their marriages and religious differences on January 14th at 10 p.m., only on Star World.
Karan’s posers are as usual tricky to navigate but the two handle them with a rare aplomb. Karan asks, “Your husbands are dealing with the most beautiful women, working with them day in and day out. Are there any kind of insecure moments?“ Gauri Khan shoots back, “I pray to God if Shahrukh has to be with somebody else then please help me find somebody else also.” Her quick comeback has all the three in splits. On the other hand, Suzanne, in her first ever TV appearance very coyly says that she can’t imagine life without Hrithik! On being asked about their roles as critics, Gauri admits to be straightforward and blunt when it comes to Shahrukh’s performances, while Suzanne appears to be more subtle and sweet to Hrithik. “I always try to show him the better side of his performance. But I must admit that I didn’t like Hrithik in Yaadein. He wasn’t consistent in that movie at all.” Karan corners his guests into revealing closely guarded secrets as well, when he probes into the awkward relationship between Hrithik and Shahrukh even though the wives are the best of pals. Or how has the rumour that Hrithik will not survive in the industry because of King Khan’s overwhelming success affected him? Or how did Hrithik react when he did not win the National award?
