After missing flight from Delhi, actor rushed to Mumbai and flew to Bangkok to ring in 2013

He has always been billed as Bollywood's best dancer, so it hardly comes as a surprise that Hrithik Roshan impressed hundreds with his performance at the Saifai Mahotsav in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh on Friday. But little did the actor realise that the next few hours after his performance were going to be this hectic.

The actor finished his act at the prestigious state event that is held every year, at about 1.30 am. The temperatures at that time were as low as 4 degrees Celsius. “Hrithik was supposed to travel to Delhi the same night and take the 1 am flight to Bangkok (to celebrate New Year with his family). But due to the dense fog, travelling by road was out of the question and even his chartered flight couldn’t take off,” informs an insider close to Hrithik.

As a result, Hrithik then had to rush to Mumbai to catch the next available flight to Bangkok. “From Mumbai, he immediately got on to the Bangkok flight on Saturday night because his family, including his parents, wife and kids, had already reached the Thai capital,” adds the insider.

All that stress finally paid off when he made it to Bangkok in time to ring in the New Year with his family.

Hrithik Roshan and his family brought in the New Year on a private yacht hired by the actor while in Bangkok

He may have flown his entire family to Bangkok to ring in the New Year but it wasn’t for the usual high octane celebration. Instead, Hrithik Roshan chose to party with his kin on a private yacht hired specially for the occasion.

Accompanied by wife Sussanne, father Rakesh, mother Pinky, grandparents J Om Prakash and wife (see pic), sister Sunaina, uncle Rajesh and kids, Hrithik left for Bangkok a day before December 31. A source said, “Hrithik hired a private yacht, which had a capacity of 20-25 people when he went to Bangkok. The entire family reached there a day before New Year’s. They spent some time shopping in the city and Hrithik made sure his family was well taken care of wherever they went. The yacht was his idea as he wanted to break away from the routine of celebrating in a luxury suite.”

The source added, “There was music and dancing on the yacht and not just Hrithik but his entire family grooved to the foot-tapping numbers. Hrithik was very happy as he doesn’t get as much time while shooting. Back home, party places tend to get very crowded. A day later, he took them all out for dinner.”

The Roshans are expected to return to Mumbai later this week. Hrithik was unavailable for comment.
