Thousands of film fans went into a frenzy early Friday as the biggest stars of the prolific Bollywood movie industry were honored at an annual Indian industry award ceremony, held for the first time in Dubai. Over 200 film personalities from India as well as Pakistan attended the glittering ceremony.The first science-fiction film in Hindi, “Koi Mil Gaya,” bagged several top awards. Hrithik Roshan won the best actor awards while his father, Rakesh won recieved the best director award.Koi Mil Gaya also won the best film. In technical aspects, the film also got Ganesh Hegde the Best Choreographer Award and Digital Arts Media the Special Effects award for KMG.

Urmila recieved was honored with the best actress award for her performance in Bhoot.

The other awards were: Best supporting actor for Saif Ali Khan ( Kal Ho Na Ho ), best supporting actress for Shabana Azmi ( Tehzeeb ), best villain for Rahul Dev ( Footpath ), best comedian for Arshad Warsi ( Munnabhai MBBS ) and best lyricist for Amrita Pritam ( Pinjar ). The best debut actor award went to Shahid Kapoor ( Ishq Vishq ), best debut actress to Bhumika Chawla ( Tere Naam ), best debut director to Raj Kumar Kirani ( Munnabhai MBBS ); best soundtrack to Himesh Reshammiya ( Tere Naam ); and best song to Kal Ho Na Ho .
