Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che, which has Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Rajkumar Yadav, is being hailed as a friendship film that'll win hearts. The film based on Chetan Bhagat's The 3 Mistakes Of My Life, has music by Amit Trivedi and it premiered at the Berlin Film Festival. Says Abhishek, "Best friendships are the ones with whom we keep it simple, common, real. Kai Po Che stretches the boundary just that little bit more because of the way the three boys have translated their real-life bonding on the big screen. It comes alive bursting with positive energy and sparkling with innocent charm."
Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director, Studios, Disney UTV, feels the film is about all those things that make young India tick - love, cricket, career and politics. "But above all, it's about friendship. It's a story about three friends trying to make their way in the world, while life-changing events that defined India at the turn of the century are unfolding around them. It is both entertaining and emotional," he says.
Hrithik Roshan is all praise for it, "There is something just incredible about it. It's one of the most heartfelt and courageous films I have seen. Very rarely do evolved performances, simplistic treatment, perfect editing and amazing photography, all come together as one, to blow your mind. You just can't miss this one." Aamir Khan, who saw the movie at a special screening arranged for him in Jaipur, says, "I really enjoyed the film. Abhishek has directed it very well and the cast has done a fantastic job. Great music too." Kai Po Che, produced by UTV Motion Pictures, releases today.
