Actor Hrithik Roshan, who is currently in Singapore promoting his upcoming superhero film, Krrish 3, is unperturbed by controversies. “Why would I get pissed off? If you are a man of truth, and you stand by your own truth, people are always going to say lots of things,” says Hrithik, before recalling an instance from his childhood. “When I was young, I remember going to Shirdi and some people looked at my dad (Rakesh Roshan, filmmaker) and started commenting on his bald head. It made me really angry. But then I said to myself, ‘One second. What is my truth? I think my dad looks the best the way he is right now’. If people are taking out their own frustrations for attention, then why will I give it to them? I will walk my own path. You just keep walking. That is true courage and strength.”

The actor, who is the father of two sons — Hrehaan and Hridhaan — has often spoken of cultivating an audience among the country’s children through his superhero image. Revealing why he considers the young viewers his best critics, he explains, “Children are unbiased. They only believe in acting instinctively and that is the purest reaction you can ever receive in life. When you’re a child, you’re innocent and unadulterated. Your emotions are not contaminated by layers of diplomacy or manipulative giving. So it really means a lot when children react. That’s when you know that it can’t get more honest than this.”
