Hrithik is no one film wonder

Every actor has his ups and downs, and to make a conclusive statement on the basis of one hit or flop is premature, so think people who have worked or are close to Hrithik. The actor isn’t an one-film-wonder, they feel:

I haven't seen the film Koi Mil Gaya, but all the people whose sensibilities I share have told me that Hrithik is really outstanding in the film. So I conclude that he is. Every actor has his ups and downs, and to make a conclusive statement on the basis of one hit or flop is a little premature. Personally, I've been through the same thing. When something works, I'm damn good, and if it doesn't work, then I don't know what I'm doing at all. It's for sure that Hrithik has talent and that he's not the one-film-wonder, which is everyone's favourite name tag for him. This movie is apparently appreciated, so that's it. For me personally, everything new that you try is bound to be appreciated. One can see from all the films that are doing well that they offered something new. If you have lavish sets etc, but nothing new, then what do people watch?

Arjun Sablok, Director

I think it is wrong to say that if a film doesn't work the phenomena of the actor is over. I've always felt that the audience doesn't go back to the theatre because the film has failed to create that curiosity. Here, the coming together of Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan after Kaho Na Pyar Hai, has created curiosity. The novelty of the subject and the way the promos have been made. It shows that people don't get turned off by actors. They're waiting for something new from them. In his career, I don't think it makes a difference. The media just thinks that if a few films don't work, the actor is gone. It's very strange.

Hrithik had told me right in the beginning after Kaho Na Pyar Hai, "you know that all the superstars became superstars over a period of time. With me they've made me a star overnight. But as an actor I need to grow."

I think what worked was the honesty of Hrithik. You go in to see a sci-fi film and you come out with Hrithik. He is a little slow in the film, he broke away from the typical hero and you start caring for the character. He touches you emotionally.
