It is a misleading notion that Hrithik Roshan is a muscle man. No I am just as fit as you can see me. My films will also reveal that in many scenes I have hardly any extra muscles. I just have enough. Trust me,I am thin. My schedules have been so water tight that have not had the time to build muscles. You need enough time in a day to build muscles. I am not also very well built like others and do not have a lot of tendon. I am running all over the world shooting for various films. How can I build my muscles with that kind of a schedule? So, whenever I have to do a scene involving close-ups of my body. I start working out a week before that. That could explain why I look muscular in some scenes and why I look thin in some frames in my films, if you have noticed carefully. Normally, I just do my routine exercises when I am running about. Otherwise I need to do the full routine. I do the regular bench press and some weights. I do not work out for more than 40 minutes in a day. And that too before I go to sleep. My schedule is thus that I return home pretty late. Hence I need to work out only then. It is only when I am in India that I catch up on an hour of workouts. This happens between 12.30 and 1.30 in the night. I sleep after that. If I do not workout, I cannot sleep.

Workouts also put me to sleep I work out with Uday Chopra, Jugal Hansraj and a few of my friends. Reverting to my schedules, they are actually killing me. I fall ill often. It has a lot to do with the kind of films that I had signed before Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai.. I was a newcomer and I needed to sign on a lot of films, as I was very insecure. Now things are better and I can afford to relax and sign films by choice. But the hectic schedule is getting on to me. Ideally, I should not work on more than one shift in a day. There are guys in the industry, who are acting in more than six films in a year. Not only does that hamper your career because people can see you everyday, but you also burn yourself out. I do not want to fall into that trap now at all. I want to work out regularly keep my body fit and never overwork.
