Promoting a film that deals with overcoming the worst of personal fears, Hrithik Roshan—who must be immune to flops and way beyond worry, anxiety by now—handed out a tip on how to remain free of sweat. “Get a grip on any situation you confront and be prepared beforehand and you will never experience fear. I really can’t spell out any particular thing that frightens me,” he said on his visit to Lucknow on Wednesday to campaign for his film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara, which releases on July 15. Along came his co-actors Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol and Katrina Kaif, besides the film’s director Zoya Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani.
The team shared their experience of working in the film and with each other. “I shared a backslapping bond with Farhan, but after he made Dil Chahta Hai, I was in awe of him and grew somewhat...respectful towards him,” said Roshan in a lighter vein but meaning every word. In turn Akhtar reciprocated the accolade reminding one and all of what a “super star” Roshan has been right from his debut film Kaho Naa...Pyar Hai, choosing a new kind of role everytime. It was meant to be a press conference, but the organisers, a soft drink brand whose ‘Darr Ke Aage Jeet Hai’ tagline is the refrain of the film, got an anchor and asking all the questions from the team and turning the Fourth Estate into mute spectators and listeners as the mutual admiration society kept showering compliments on each other.
“From Katrina I have learnt how to be sincere to the art yet be so commercial,” gushed Deol, acclaimed widely for his histrionic repertoire. “Zoya is such a sorted out director...so sure of what she wants and how to execute the action,” said Kaif. “Farhan is so determined to do things just the way he wants,” said Zoya, the doting sister, about Akhtar, who is a writer, director and..ahem, singer too.
